Bereavement is indeed one of the most painful emotions the human body has to deal with during our lifetime. 

This page was created to help you, especially after the initial support drops off. The phone rings less and less, and people call to see us less frequently. Daily life and living takes over and we now feel totally lost and very alone.

The pain you may be feeling right now can seem almost unbearable at times but will be fully understood and felt by the people we have in our Bereavement Support Group.  They offer a listening ear and friendly support when you need it.

A PRAYER FOR THOSE WHO MOURN
Lord Jesus Christ, you wept over the death of Lazarus and said:
“Blessed are those who mourn.”
Visit, we beseech you, with your compassion the homes and hearts of those who mourn the loss of their loved ones
and may their hope in the resurrection sustain them in this hour of trial. Amen.

WORDS OF COMFORT FROM THE BIBLE:

"He will wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain. All of that has gone forever." Revelation 21:4.

"These, the ransomed of the Lord, will go home along that road to Zion, singing the songs of everlasting joy. For them all sorrow and all sighing will be gone forever; only joy and gladness will be there." Isaiah 35:10,

FOOTPRINTS

One night I had a dream--
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord
and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,
one belonged to me and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way,
but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
"I don't understand why in times when I needed you most,
you should leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
"When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."
