CHANCY BROTHERS CONCERT |
FRIDAY, APRIL 2, 2009 |
| All roads led to St. Andrew's Parish Hall on Friday, April 2 as people flocked to watch The Chancy Brothers
perform their Grand Charity Night Concert in the biggest social event the parish has seen for years. The concert is expected to raise more than £2500 which will be split between 4 charities, Justice First, SAMM (Survivors Against Murder & Manslaughter), Barnardo's and The Helen Project. The four singing priests, all from Ireland, received an almighty cheer when compere for the evening, Fr. John Paul Leonard introduced them. The band is made up of St. Joseph's Parish Priest Fr. Also performing were singer Bernie Johnson; African Drums from the Congolese Family; Phil Bage, Meryl and Max; West Side Girls Elizabeth and Michaela; Tai Chi from Terry Doyle; Juggler Tom Rolph; Catherine O'Brien and Karen; Mr. Brodie and Sons and Phil Bage and his band finished the evening with a rock & roll medley. And making sure everything linked together was St. Clare's Parish Priest Fr. John Paul Leonard who was a very able compere. |
