CANON EDDIE ON BOARD THE M. V. ATLANTIC BRIDGE

St. Andrew's Parish Priest, Fr. Gubbins celebrated Mass on board a ship docked at Teesport. The Catholic sailors on board the M. V. Atlantic Bridge have been away from home for many months and risk their lives to bring imported goods into Teesport, and are very grateful for a priest to go on board and celebrate Mass with them. Fr. Gubbins presented them with gifts of rosary beads and poppies while Sr. Maria Varley provided the hats. As you can see the hats were very popular. After the Mass Fr. Gubbins and Sr. Maria joined the sailors for dinner. Mmmm, no wonder the Canon has a big smile on his face!!
